Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist, and even a commentator at NBC News in Washington D.C. She is also a television anchor. Mitchell graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing in New York City. Mitchell began as journalist for television and radio at the time in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. She became a reporter for the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) which was based within Washington DC. The following year, she was an general reporter at NBC News in Washington. She began to cover the White House in 1981 and was made chief of the congressional correspondent in 1988. When she joined NBC News in 1992, Mitchell became the chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 chief foreign affairs reporter for NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist for the TV show Meet the Press and also hosted the show. Mitchell participated on a panel during the debate in 1988 between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell received the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 The Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) recognized Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her work in the defense from the infringement of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began reporting on for the White House in 1981-1988 for NBC News during Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell covered a broad range of interesting stories including the Iran-contra scandal and tax reform. She traveled with Ronald Reagan on numerous trips for world summits and wrote often.
